"OM" the First Sound of Creation

"OM" in Sanskrit is a vibration and it's the first sound of Creation of the Universe.


The name Omkara, (Sanskrit: the syllable om) is taken as a name of God  in the Hindu revivalist Arya Samaj. Similarly, the concept of om, called onkar in Punjabi, is found in Sikh theology as a symbol of God. It invariably emphasizes God's singularity, expressed as Ek Onkar ("One Omkara" or "The Aum is One"), stating that the multiplicity of existence symbolized in the aum syllable is really founded in a singular God.

The syllable Aum is first described as all-encompassing mystical entity in the Upanishads. Today, in all Hindu art and all over India and Nepal, 'Aum' can be seen virtually everywhere, a common sign for Hinduism and its philosophy and theology. 


As the creation began, the divine, all-encompassing consciousness took the form of the first and original vibration manifesting as sound "OM". Before creation began it was "Shunyakasha", the emptiness or the void. Shunyakasha is more than nothingness, because everything existed in a latent state of potentiality. The vibration of "OM" symbolizes the manifestation of God (Universe) in form. "OM" is the reflection of the absolute reality, it is said to be "Adi Anadi", without beginning or the end and embracing all that exists. The mantra "OM" is the name of God (Universe), the vibration of the Supreme. When taken letter by letter, A-U-M represents the divine energy (Shakti) united in its three elementary aspects: Bhrahma Shakti (Creation), Vishnu Shakti (Preservation) and Shiva (Liberation) Shakti.

"OM" the First Sound of Creation

Five years ago I have had an amazing experience. I was window shopping in Acland Street. One shop which I liked was a New Age shop. In the window display I saw some lovely healing crystals. I went inside to check out what was new. I was strolling around the displays, admiring the beautiful crystals.
Next I went to a book display, and picked up a little book. I don't remember the name of this particular book, but the page I landed on was saying "om mani padme hum".. I read it in my mind, it was a mantra and I just fell in love with it. What I fell in love with the word "om"...but how did I know it ?

OM does not have any meaning. It is the first sound of creation, when the Universe was created it came with this big, deep sound "OM". The picture of  a healing crystal on the left has a gold drawing of "om" which I have hand painted.

Is Pride Stopping Your Full Potential for Happiness

When you are sad, you are miserable. When you are miserable, you feel lousy. When you feel sad and miserable, you feel lonely. When you are lonely, you are possibly alone. When you alone, most likely you are single. So, how do you reverse that ? Did you know that when you feel all of the above, you are actually ageing prematurely ?

So how do you prevent aging and being sick emotional roller wreck ? This is what you do; everyday, every morning or before you go to sleep..once or more times per day, it's up to you. Start smiling to yourself in a mirror, and tell your reflection starring directly to your eyes: "I am a child of the Universe/God/Jesus/Buddha/Allah, a perfect creation. I am absolutely perfect. I love and approve of myself exactly as I am.. I am beautiful/handsome and I love myself..

Or anybody else for that matter ? Believe me, everything is written on your forehead..this invisible text. What you believe inside, is projected with these invisible energies to the outside world. The mirror "love exercise" works immediately. Consistently, you will see great results.
